DAN FRISCHMAN & DAN SCHNEIDER... We Salute You!!

Arvid Ingin and Dennis Blunden were the Laurel and Hardy of the semipopular 80's show "Head of the Class." This is mainly because they were a skinny guy and a plump one. They also gave the show its sense of realism. When Eric was cool, Maria was pretty, and that one prep was, well, preppy, this duo showed what honors classes were all about: Nerds! Not the kind of nerds who seek revenge, or get the prettiest school because deep down they've got something special. They were just do your homework, drink milk, and quote Classic Trek type nerds.

Why is it that we feel the need to see these people rise above it all? They must be bullied until they stand up and defeat the odds. Well if that really happened we would live in total anarchy. I'm glad to know that every book work ISN'T packing a single once-in-a-lifetime punch, and if I accidentally squirt ketchup on his I might be laid out like a sack of bricks, only to wake up and start calling him "Sir." God bless the submissive dweeb.

Career Highlights

HEAD OF THE CLASS
(1986-1991)

They outlasted Hessman, and the show was designed as his comeback vehicle. The question is, why did the honors class stay in High School for 6 years?

BETTER OFF DEAD (1985)

Blunden is also know as Ricky from this Cusack classic, the evil fat geek trying to woo the foreign exchange student living at his house. His mom blows up and Cusack gets the girl, as always seems to happen.

GOOD BURGER (1997)

Moving predominantly behind the camera, Blunden co-wrote this film with Class mate Eric Robbins, who went on to direct the feature, as well as "Varsity Blues" and "Ready to Rumble." Blunden remained at Good Burger, and can be seen in the back cleaning the frier until Snick needs another knock-off of "You Can't Do That on Television."
